Warkworth Harbour Pilots Trinity House
Thought I would share my great great grandfathers Trinity House Pilot license for Warkworth Harbour granted 11 april 1895 and endorsed each year after, until at least 1921.
I particularly like the paragraph Seamen or Watermen "not to give the said James George Young any Trouble or Molestation in the execution of his said office of Pilot". I hope the scan is ok to read! |

Nice one, Hollydog. I suppose if you got him more than three miles out he could be appropriately molested

Thanks for posting the scan of James George Young's Pilot Licence. My father is tracing the Young's, Gibb's and Campbell's in the Alnwick, Alnmouth, Amble and Blyth area. I've just come across your posting and told him about this forum and suggested he register.
Not sure how much information you have relating to James, but we have some newspaper articles etc. and a document regarding a sea rescue he was involved in during his early career - although you may already be aware of aspects of his life. Happy to upload if of interest to you and when I workout how to do so on this forum. KevinT |
