Default Tudor Retainers Badge ,

Circa 15th/16th century found Warkworth area , Dec 2012 , Reported to Small finds Officer Portable Antiquities scheme at Great North Dec 2012 , Declared Treasure trove under the Treasure Act 1996! (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1996/24/contents)
currently awaiting collection from British Museum for relocation to Northumberland Estates , Antiquities Display,

Silver with a lead filled back. Hence Treasure plus artifact over 300 year old !


Treasure is—
(a)any object at least 300 years old when found which—
(i)is not a coin but has metallic content of which at least 10 per cent by weight is precious metal;

Warkworth in that era was the main seat of the dukes of Northumberland ,they would have posers there on a saturday night flouncing from the Bull to the Sun then to the Masons for a lock in!

well whoever found it can kiss it goodbye and diont expect to get the true value for it, you take what the bm gives like or lump it after about 3 or so years of course

If you read the header ,you will see what is happening to the Item, after just on 12 months I had the BM result , no valuation as it was not required by any Museum so was with agreement of finder returned to the land owner! for display in their Antiquities collection , as finder the monetary value of the item was secondary !
