That Amble Junction -photo has reminded me that Bartle Rippon has allowed us to reproduce a few of his own photos from his book, although a similar one to the one above appears in his book it's not one of his images. I don't want to copy more than two out of the book but here's the first one taken by Mr Rippon, Amble Station, Schooner Pub is the landmark still standing today in this one:

I'll make this the second one and leave it at that:

1964 Looking towards the metal bridge at the end of Dilston Terrace and across to the staiths. Boys Club building white block on the left. The foreground rail track area is now Straffen Court.
