Default Coquet and Coast memories?

The Facebook page that has recently been set up for people to share stories and photos of the past in Alnwick is really catching the imagination of local folk. A huge amount of old pictures have been submitted in such a short time.
The page can be found at http://www.facebook.com/AlnwickMemories
I wonder if a similar page for Coquet and Coast might attract a similar level of interest?

Its a good idea, this site already has a facebook page but I think it is down to getting the right name to capture people's imagination and then getting a critical mass of people to start posting, it tends to snowball from then.

Just a suggestion - rename the page above to Amble Memories and if a few of us on here press like and post some pics or re-use some of the forum ones, you never know it might start getting up to that "critical mass" and take on a life of its own.FB does seem to be the most popular network at the moment.

Well that was the idea for this website!

With everyone supporting Facebook; local press, local councils, we're toast.

I've Just had a look at that and you can't change the name of a page with more than 200 likes!

Default Facebook.

Stick with it Coquet, I for one would have nothing to do with facebook.

Facebook can get a bit lowbrow (even for me) sometimes. Although I don't go there often.

I think this forum layout is better for handling the subject matter.

Fair enough Coquet, I agree fb is not everbody's cup of tea, some love it, some hate it.
Lets concentrate on one site and keep up the good work. I have added a link to this forum on the Bede St picture you posted. Perhaps that is the way to do it - entice people on to the forum with little tasters on fb every now and again!

I keep spreading the word to people to look at this forum and keep asking for info and pictures. I know an ex-mining engineer with Radcliffe mine plans etc. if he reads this he will know what I'm up to when I finally coax him to let me have a look at them!!!

FB can't compete with the way we can structure things but who knows how it will develop? I can see in the future Facebook becoming the internet - I can understand why Google are worried.

Like I suggested - just use fb as another way to get people onto this site. You are quite right fb obviously cannot structure or present topics and threads - that is the job of a forum like this.
Onwards and upwards!
