Brilliant, just spotted my sister and cousin on the Dovecote Street photograph. She's easy to identify as she was the only one of us allowed 2 ribbons in her hair

2nd row, second from the left is David Gray and third from the left is Elsie Whinham, my cousin and sister. They used to always sit together in class apparently.

Default Amble Schools

Here is my photo from Dovecote Street. I thought it was 1947 but if the previous photo is correct for 1947 then mine must be later ( not much!)

Quite possibly 1947 as each year group would have a separate photo taken - I don't think any of the names are duplicated?

Default Dovecote Street

Just a snippet - my wife was born 1942 and started at Cross Street School. When she moved up she went straight to Edwin Street School. She is just a year younger than those in the photograph. She lived in Ivy Street.
