Presently working on a page for the Amble Pubs that existed during the Victorian era:

Default Amble pubs

A good resource, if you hav'nt already found it are, Victuallers Licences which will take you back further than the ten year censuses. They are available in index form at woodhorn pit

Thanks for that Pete, no I wasn't aware of the licences - nice to know.
