Default William Young

Hollydog, is this one yours?

Will of William Young, Officer of Customs, Alemouth and Amble, 11 January 1845.

It's at the National Archives and can be downloaded for £3.30!

Thanks Janwhin, my lot arrived as chief boatman to coastguards at Craster mid 1850s then Alnmouth 1858 and onto Amble a couple of years later where William was born.

Hello HollyDog

New on the register and running through your posts, so following on from James George Young post, I've spotted this one which is also of interest. By the information you've given, would you be referring to James Young?. If so he was my Great, Great, Grandfather. Prior to Craster [1856/60), he was stationed at Burnmouth [1852/56] after discharge from the Royal Navy. Can provide detail on his career in the navy if of interest. KevinT.

Yes that is him, born on the Isle of Sheppey, Leysdown. He served in the Royal Navy and one particular voyage to South America was with a new type of mast on trial I believe. I am John Young; which of his children is your line of the family? Very interesting and good to hear from you.
