Howlet Hall
My Great Grandmother worked at Howlet Hall, up beside Black Bridge back in the early 1900. Attempts to find information about the hall or its owners have been fruitless. There is still a sign on the Mill Walk showing the footpath to the hall and it ‘s site remains on the ordinance survey map. Any one have any information or photos?

Howlett Hall is at the top of the walk from Mill Walk, which carries on up to Watershaugh Road. It is a small farm with some holiday cottages. It is, as the sign says, probably less than half a mile.
The owner does/did, run the boat service across to the Hermitage. |
