Default Northumberland/Geordie cracket !

Does anyone remember these or still have one tucked away at home.
Cracketts ! I've just made a few as Christmas presents for someone, over the years most houses had one or two. This one was copied identically from one that was well over a hundred years old .

Nice Job.

These are the stylised versions of the miner's crackets used by the hewers underground. 'Posh versions' if you like for use in the miner's homes.

some interesting early ones here: http://www.healeyhero.co.uk/rescue/glossary/cracket.htm
