Hi Everyone,

I am interested in the Amble area and I am related to the wife of J.A. Pringle the photographer at Amble in about 1900. Any information on this Pringle family would be useful.

Phil

Hi Phil, and welcome to the forum. Interesting that you have a link to the Amble "by appointment" photographer

I notice from the census that Joshua Atkin Pringle seems to have been born in Newcastle. He was in Amble in 1911 but in 1901 he was living in Bedlington with his family. I guess this is the right man.

Amble folk might be interested to know that in 1911 he was in Church Street, lodging with Mrs Ross, confectioner. So Ross' corner goes back a while!

I wonder if he boarded in Amble at various times, as he is a photographer in 1899 at Amble, operating from Coquetdale Studios there.
