Actually, I'm not normally given to speaking up for footballers but think you might be wrong there. Many premier league footballers give of their time and money to children and children's charities. Wayne Rooney, Les Ferdinand, Sanchez, and others just don't speak about it. Newspapers report it through notification from recipients and their families.(steps down from soapbox). However, not knocking the actions of the Charltons in 1953!
