Default Salt Haugh Granary, Warkworth Road

I know this has been mentioned a few times on the forum but recently obtained a copy of "People and Places of Northumberland" 1945 by Glen Aln (pseudonym I think) and it includes the following which I don't think I've seen there before:

At one time midway between Amble and Warkworth there was a building commonly spoken of as the "Granary," but in the official records of the Alnwick Castle Estate Office it was "Salt Haugh Granary," and it belonged to the Duke of Northumberland. Before the harbour was commenced in 1837 and completed in 1844, small ships used the river and disposed of their cargoes of crude iron ore which was stored in the "Granary" and therefrom carted to Acklington Foundry. Earlier there were other places where cargoes were loaded and unloaded.

In those days the road from Amble to Warkworth was by Gloster Hill and Gildean, a matter of 170 years ago. The Foundry Company which commenced in 1775 first made a road to the "Granary" only. Later the road was made but at "high" tide it was covered with water until about 50 years ago, when it was raised. In the roll of years the "Granary" had numerous tenants; in 1831 it was a Mr. J. Cookson, Junr., in 1854 it was Mr. Andrew Ritherford, a joiner of repute, and in 1890 it was rented by Mr. Edward Coulson, Senr., who at that time had a half-a-dozen pleasure boats on the river at Warkworth during the summer and in the winter housed them in the "Granary" because Warkworth boatmen disproved of an outsider poaching on their preserves.

In 1895 it was pulled down and the stone used to build Beal Bank House and the first tenant was Mr. Thomas Kilburn, a veterinary surgeon, who entered on May 12th, 1896.

Although a recently posted picture on Amble in Old Photographs on FB seems to show a long building perpendicular to the river in the approximate location of this "Granary" which being a photograph makes it much more recent that 1895. It was posted by Peter Roper on the 16 November 2018 and is included below:

I have enlarged the photo and it is definitely the granary, the photo could quite easily pre-date 1895.
Which is Beal Bank house btw? the one at the top on the junction or halfway down ?

As for the dating - it doesn't quite add up is that the image appears to be from a postcard. The first photographic postcards only appeared in 1894. However, it could be a later postcard utilising a much earlier photo.

As for Beal Bank House - on the 1897 OS map there is only the house and cottage on the top-right of the bank at the T-junction as they are today. However, both theses buildings are also on the 1866 map. A smaller buioding is present on both dates on the left-hand side of the road but wouldn't appear big enough to house the eight persons present in the Kilburn household in 1901. So not conclusive.

The 1901 Census has Thomas Kilburn (vet) there and only two households are recorded on Beal Bank, the others being Mr & Mrs Tate. Both families are still there in 1911 although by this time there are only three persons in the Kilburn household.
