Default Chevington burials.

Hi, just a wee question. Where were the deceased of Chevington buried? I have a 1901 death cert. that mentions Chevington Chapelry. Where was this?
Thanks in advance for any info.

I'm sure there was a chapel at West Chevington aswell as a chapel at East Chevington (the Drift). Checking some of the old on-line maps may help.

Go here: https://maps.nls.uk

click on the : side by side viewer. Old maps on the left (you can pick the years), as it is now , on the right.

Rickt, seems that the graveyard was near Bullock's Hall and disappeared in an opencast mine.

Yes it did, my relatives lived opposite the farm and were bought out to make way for the opencast many years ago. I visited them often passing the caravan park on the way. I put up a picture on this forum of the street leading up to the graveyard taken in the 1920's. My great grandparents lived there. There is a list on this forum of all the family's who lived on the street. Coquet did a lot of research in finding out all their names and house numbers.
