Above, green area, site of part of Swarland Terrace West, now demolished. Terraces also extended behind photographer, about the same distance again.

So they went up straight after the 1898 map. The fact that the older housing has survived does maybe support the fact that there was a problem with the newer houses, i.e. subsidence.
