My name is Adrian. I lived in Leslie Row, Radcliffe. There was a large family of Straughans living down our street. I remember George, who was about my age. (This seems to be a different George from the one in macca's picture.) I also remember Mary, David, Stan, Eleanor and Norman? who was the eldest. There was also a younger brother who, I think, we called Jonna. Is this your family?

This was a bonfire on the "Big Hill" early 1950s. I am in the middle of the front row, Far right of the front row is David Straughan.

My 5th birthday party 1951. Mary Straughan is 3rd from left back row.
George Straughan is 2nd from left front row.

Radcliffe was a great place to live.

Default Straughans

Adrian. Mary was my nam. I front know enough about h
the Straughans. Yet almost everyone from Amble down knows a Straughan. I remember as a kid coming to Amble to see Eleanor and later David in1984, welcoming me in with open arms. I went on then to stay with "Jonna" Uncle John.
