Ronald MILLAR (born 1936) of Amble/Warkworth
My Boulmer grandfather's sister Victoria Alexandra CAMERON(1901-1941) married James Leslie MILLAR (1898-1957) of Amble/Warkworth and their son was Ronald MILLAR (b 1936). James L MILLAR's parents were James Doig MILLAR (1857-1917) from Dundee & Margaret Ann Whitehead WELCH(1864-1922) of Warkworth. Ronald MILLAR as brought up by a WELCH or MILLAR or LEE aunt after his mother died,. He went to the Duke's School, played football for Berwick Rangers and did an Engineering degree at Newcastle University. He may have moved to Malvern, Worcestershire. Sadly our family lost touch with him. When my late father George A S CAMERON (1920-1982) was in the RAF in Johannesberg, S Africa, during WWII he met one of the WELCH relatives. Does anybody know anything about the whereabouts of Ronald MILLAR please? Perhaps MILLAR or WELCH or LEE relatives from Amble or Warkworth know what happened to him after he moved away, please?

Many thanks to all in and around Amble (the friendliest port) who helped put me in contact with Ron MILLAR & family, particularly John GRIFFITHS and son Les GRIFFITHS and also Ron's niece Barbara (Pringle) ALLEN. Ron is an enthusiastic, interesting and kind man, retired two decades ago from his high-powered career as a civil engineer designing motorway bridges amongst other things, he & wife Dorothy live 'doon sooth' in Ashby-de-la-Zouch but still has a good Northumberland accent. Son, daughter and grandchilden. Lots of interesting family stories to exchange. Well worth the long quest. Thanks.
