Hi everyone!
Finally tracked the family to Radcliffe! I live in south Wales but regularly visit 'home'. Now have some more of Northumbria to investigate more fully

Hi Ann, welcome to the forum. I have ancestors that came from South Wales to Radcliffe. It's a funny old world.

It certainly is! Which part of south Wales? Let me guess that they might have been miners?

Yes Great Great Grandfather Tom Summerell was a thoroughbred Welsh Miner! Born 1858, 'Cwmavon Trevethin Monmouth' came up here via the Durham coalfields where he collected a wife. Died Smith Street in Amble 1937 and buried in the West Cemetery. A little corner of an English Field that will be forever Welsh

Welsh Dragon!
When I'm looking up my oldies, in a week or so, I'll bring a little Welsh Flag or the like, just in case I'm in Toms vicinity
