I think Hollydog found a German WW2 medal around that area on the beach. Someone must have stood on that hill and thrown a handful of medals away.

Janwhin, have you got a grave reference number for Jane Richardson died Oct 1889. She's my 2x G-Grandmother, died in Queen Street aged 33. (I know we've mentioned this one before)

I don't know if this will be usable for me to find the grave:

East Cemetery Plan

Wish I had the time to make a clean digital version of that.

I've tried to line it up with some of the in situ headstones that are photographed on the sister site. The best fix is probably that of the Mansons which is H11.

Great. I can see it on the plan and it's along a footpath. Easy to find.

I noticed the plan looked a bit askew, thought it was a problem with the scanning but I see it is actually like that in reality. I assume to keep the graves east- west?

To find a grave in the middle of those plots you might need three surveyors tapes though!

Is there a standard size for the plot allocated as a grave does anyone know?

Regarding the unconsecrated ground for Jane Richardson - this sounds about right as I know she was married at the Zion Meeting House in Alnwick so I think a Presbyterian reprobate.
