Default Robert Carse Gair Sportsman's Battalion Royal Fusiliers

Bit reluctant to post anything in case it has been shown and discussed ad infinitum on 'that' social media site.

Anyway, here is one of our Great War Amble soldiers, Robert Carse Gair. The cap badges look similar to the Northumberland Fusiliers, but it is in fact the badge of the Royal Fusiliers. (Although Robert is missing his)

He is on the absent voters list as 24th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. This was one of two Sportsman's 'pals' battalions, made up from cricketers, footballers etc.

His address is 51 Church Street.

In the top photo, he is middle row, 2nd from the left
In the bottom photo, he is front row 2nd from the left
