I stumbled across your forum whilst looking for information about Henry Pringle who was sexton at Warkworth Church. He was my husbands great great grandfather. We have a photo of him in his robes looking very serious so it was suprising to read about his sense of humour!
We were interested to read about his sons death at the Stephenson Works in Newcastle as we had been unaware of this tragedy. |

I've loaded up 3 photos - one showing Henry Pringle sexton, the second showing his son Paul and Pauls sons Henry and William and the third photo is possibly Jane Hewitt who married Henry Pringle sexton but we are not sure. Does anybody out there recognise her?

I do not have info on Henry Pringle but his son George married into my grandmother's family. George eventually became the parish sexton, following in his father's footsteps.

would that be Elizabeth Common?
My husbands family come down through Paul b1844 who married Mary Ann McCourt. Their daughter Mary Ann Pringle married John Matthew Dickman (of Dickmans Pie fame for those of you old enough to remember!!) who is hubbies grandfather. |
