Well, evidence can be misinterpreted
I've just had a look at the newspaper archive and there is an entry in the Alnwick Mercury of 7 June 1879:
"At Amble, on the 5th inst., aged 24 yrs, Mary, the beloved wife of Mark Harbottle, and daughter of Mr E and J Nairn."
Her parents are Ebeneezer and Isabella Nairn. He was a mason and in 1851 was living in Amble. Buried in the east cemetery, surname "Nirn".
