Amble.
Honour to an Amble Soldier.
The friends of Private Ditchburn have naturally been delighted to hear of the honour that has been conferred upon him at the front, having awarded to him the Military Medal. This is the fourth or fifth decoration that has been bestowed on an Amble man. Private Ditchburn joined the Northumberland Fusiliers early in the war, and has now been for some time in the trenches and has taken part in the big push. All hope that he may be spared to come home again at the end of the war. A right royal welcome awaits at the hands of the Amble Heroes Fund as well as the people of Amble.
