Yes, my version of the adjourned inquest has the same problem. An earlier report of the initial inquest in the Morpeth Herald of 15 December suggested there were some doubts about the death:
"Mr Chas. Percy, Coroner for North Northumberland, held an inquest at the Workmen's Institute, Radcliffe, on Thursday, touching the death of a married woman, named Anna Harbottle, who died on December 12th.- Robert Harbottle said he was a miner living at Dandsfield Place, Radcliffe. He identified the body as that of his wife, Anna Harbottle aged 62 years. - The Coroner said it was a case where possibly some inquiries would have to be made by the police, and he suggested that they adjourn the case in order to enable the police to make full inquiries. - The inquest was accordingly adjourned until next Friday."
