Could be a coincidence, but it was carrying 140 tons of pig iron ingots at the time!

Could be. But looking in the newspaper archive I get the thousand yard stare there are that many ships lost on our patch. Years ago when I did
that lost ships page the local newspaper archive was not online. I thought back then well, I bet I've got most of them....Wrong...I'd just scratched the surface!
I think the prevailing current is north to south if that's any help.
