I can imagine that making the 1939 records chargeable for existing subscribers has upset a few as well. I would have thought it would have been a serious boost to their annual subscriptions if it had been included free. But, I'm sure they did their market research and are on the route to maximise profits from it.
I wonder who owns the 1939 images? If it is the National Archives then it might be sold to ancestry as well at some point, once the agreement with findmypast expires?
