Default South Broomhill Post Office

My grandparents moved into Stone Row but not until the 1920s. Some of the photographs from the 1930s show the edge of that wall climbing plant creeping towards their windows!
Looking on the 1901 and 1911 census it looks like Coquet's guestimate on date is about right.
In 1901, Vincent Shepherd was a check weighman and sub post master, he was 70. His wife, Elizabeth was in her early 60s. They had two daughters both working as post office clerks. The oldest was Sarah Carr Fairbairn,a 29 year old widow with a six year old son and Zenobia (wow), age 24.
By 1911, Sarah had been married and widowed again, now Sarah Carr Bell, with another son. She was the sub postmistress following her father's death. Zenobia was still the assistant.
The photo is probably Vincent and grandson, wife, Elizabeth, in the doorway and Zenobia and Sarah.
