Noticed that Maidens Hall was once called, or is at least referred to in the 18c Warkworth parish register as 'Face the Deil'
What a strange name?

Hodgson who places the homestead in East Chevington township for some reason, when it appears to be in West Chevington??, anyway, is
Face the Deil =
Face the Devil ? if so maybe it suggests more that just ye olde Acklington mob dabbling in witchcraft??
