Morpeth Herald 17 April 1953 for your skeleton
Discovered by Mr & Mrs JR Kennedy of Radcliffe while walking over sand dunes at Low Hauxley, near the normal tide mark.
Dr Robertson reckoned it had lain on that spot for hundreds of years and been uncovered as a result of recent weather. A man in his forties about 5ft 5 ins tall with a mark on the upper right humerus that could have been caused by an axe or sword.
The skeleton was forwarded to the Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh.
