Allotment road or row wouldn't have been the usual route for a journeyman butcher so I would think the allotments may have been where the horse was stabled. It is correct that it ran roughly the line of the present day Percy Drive past the health centre and joined Percy Street beside what was known as "The Metal Bridge".
