Interesting documentary currently on bbc iplayer, relates to Deptford High Street in London. Theme is Charles Booth's social condition maps and the ebb and flow of "class". Also reveals the mindset of the post war social engineers, and demonstrates the law of unintended consequences rather nicely!

Not our geographical area obviously but a gem for those interested in social history generally. I'll not begrudge my TV licence direct debit this month.
