Big Geordie or the Marion

Hi Leslie seem to remember back in the day when I was at Red Row Juniors being allowed out of the school gates to watch this huge beast make its way past our School to go to the back end of the Drift to start open casting , I think it even came with a police escort. We used to call the men who worked at the opencast "the sunshine boys" as they didn't have to go underground to get there coal. Am I right about this or was it the Marion.

An enormous beast. I recall from my schooldays the local kids would climb the jib when the plant was idle. Crazy.
