R.C. Church Red Row

We've received a nice image of Market Place Red Row. (C 1905)

looking for any info on the Church shown on the left, believed demolished in the late 1970s, same time as the Drift. Was it St Pauls Roman Catholic? -no info on line regarding this one.

R.C. Church Red Row

Yes it was St Pauls R.C. when it was demolished in the late 1980's but originally it had belonged to another denomination, unknown. How I know it was there in the 1980's is that my uncle was buried from there in 1986,

The Shields Gazette of 30 March 1903 reports that a new Wesleyan Church was opened in Red Row. Architect was JW Taylor of Newcastle and contractors R and G Brown of Amble. Perhaps this became the RC church?
