COUNTY of NORTHUMBERLAND

ESTIMATES WANTED for cutting the Bank and making the ROAD at Garment-Edge Hill in the Parish of Edlingham according to a Plan and Specifications which is placed in the hands of Joseph Frazer at Whitingham Lane.

Sealed proposals for executing the above Work will be received by the Hon H. T. Liddell at Eslington House, until Tuesday, the 22nd instant.
The Contractor will be required to give Security for the due Performance of the Work.

Garment-Edge is now known as Garmintedge Bank - a little after Battle Bridge as you head from towards the A697 at the Bridge of Aln.

Thank you so much for the info; you wouldn`t believe the amount of time, the hours I spent on the internet, pouring over ordnance survey maps and god wot else, all to no avail - gave up in the end!

PS. I Wonder why they changed the name; what possible reason could they have had?
