Near Amble bronze age hoard.

Hello, its been a few years but eventually managed to sort my password out.
Just if people are interested in what was going on a few thousand years ago around Amble and Hauxley take a look at the Portable antiquities scheme and use the search bar with DUR-1B81F3 as a reference.
Found a couple of years ago and as the British museum moves slowly its taken till now to release it.

I don't know if it's the camera angle but it looks like a very thin layer of topsoil at this site.

Hello,
Yes i found it two years back but the British museum aren't the quickest at sorting through finds.
It must have been the camera angle as the top soil to the clay is approx 8 inches.

Did see the article in the 'Ambler' regarding this. Very interesting. Congratulations.
Hancock museum lined up for the collection. If you hear of it going on display drop a note on here and I'll go and have a look.

Will do, it is going to the Hancock eventually but they take ages as they are still testing soil samples from the site. Ive got some better photos which ill post when i can work out how to ha ha .
