Hi Telspow,Welcome to the forum. I have a strong affinity for Ellington having worked in the colliery underground there for a number of years. I'm also trying to bring together the wife's grandfather's WW2 service history (North West Europe Campaign) who also worked at the colliery, living at Amble then at Ellington.

Anyway, 'Willow Tree Cottage' does sound familiar I but cannot picture where it is. Hopefully one of our number will recognise it.

In the 1911 census, my grandfather, John Kellett, gave his address as "Willow Tree Cottage, Red Row". I would be most interested to know if it still exists or if anyone has photographs.

Grey Arms Court is a group of houses built on the site of the old pub. A pair of semis of Victorian vintage which would have been 2/3 doors away from the pub are called Willow Cottage and Willow House.
