Default Hello

Hi Folks,
I'm currently in the process of moving to Amble with my wife to start the next chapter in what has thus far been quite a full and rewarding life.
I fell in love with the area back in 1975 whilst stationed at RAF Boulmer (hence the 'Scopey' user name) and I couldn't think of a better place to live now that location is no longer dictated by work.
I'm a country boy, originally from an area of Yorkshire / Lincolnshire that once formed part of the ancient kingdom of Northumberland, so I'm kind of coming home! In fact my ancestors may have been here before as settlers from Lindsey are, allegedly, one possible explanation for the name of Lindisfarne. I'm a keen outdoors person so I'm going to be found walking, running, cycling or paddling around the place next year. I'm also in to my history so where better to soak up English history than Northumberland.
I look forward to meeting new friends and I hope to make use of, and contribute to, the forum in the future.
All the best

Thank you Janwin,
it's been 13 years since our last house move... I'd forgotten how stressful it can be. Still, it should all be done with by Dec / Jan. We're looking forward to our first walk down to Spurelli's and a coffee by the harbour.

Regards
