Barques are square rigged with 3 or more masts with the spars horizontal or 'square' to the keel (as opposed to Gaffs or Burmudas) so I would suggest the spars on this vessel are damaged. I agree the damage suggests it's 'seen a bit of weather', The
Frank went aground in fog - not something associated with storms or high wind? This fact together with the rock visible is suggesting it could be some other vessel.
I'll see if I can find anything in the newspaper archive tonight.
