Despite Mr Sod I'm having a great time.
As an example, is the will of my 5x great grandmother's brother, Thomas Heron, of Bywell, Felton, who died in 1757. He was a husbandman but his will pays £10 to his widow plus 40s a year, the £10 coming out of the sale of his stock at Eshott Heugh. His father gets £10 (on behalf of his underage son) plus all his stock, crops and implements at Eshott Heugh. If his son doesn't survive to 21, the £10 is split between Thomas' two sisters (with their married names).
The executors are Thomas Hutson of Gloster Hill and Richard Heron of Eshott East Houses.
Some husbandman! I've also got the will of his father to look at....another husbandman.
