Durham Diocese Wills

For any of you folk out there doing family history there is a great new resource which has finally made it on to the FamilySearch website (IGI) after years of development.
Images of all wills and associated documents held in the Durham University Library (pre 1858) and relating to the Diocese of Durham (Durham and Northumberland) can now be viewed free.
A surname search needs to be done on http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/simple.php which gives you a reference number and that can then be accessed through the search facility under UK and Ireland on FamilySearch. They take a long time to load, but I'm lost already!

A bit more information, the relevant page on Family Search is https://familysearch.org/search/coll...INGDOM_IRELAND and it loads better on Google Chrome.

I had an experiment with an unusual local name; the Huggups

got this for Robert Huggup, Hauxley farmer:

Date of probate: 2 August 1834

will, 1 May 1834 (DPRI/1/1834/H35/1-2)
registered copy of will, 1 May 1834 (DPRI/2/45 p263)
wrapper (DPRI/1/1834/H35/3)

Tried to browse to those DPR reference numbers on the Mormon's site but it jumps from 1831 to 1837?

There's another jump from 1844 to 1847, I wanted one in 1845 :(

Sod's law is one hell of a thing! I hate Mr. Sod. :D

Despite Mr Sod I'm having a great time.
As an example, is the will of my 5x great grandmother's brother, Thomas Heron, of Bywell, Felton, who died in 1757. He was a husbandman but his will pays £10 to his widow plus 40s a year, the £10 coming out of the sale of his stock at Eshott Heugh. His father gets £10 (on behalf of his underage son) plus all his stock, crops and implements at Eshott Heugh. If his son doesn't survive to 21, the £10 is split between Thomas' two sisters (with their married names).
The executors are Thomas Hutson of Gloster Hill and Richard Heron of Eshott East Houses.
Some husbandman! I've also got the will of his father to look at....another husbandman.

Help needed.

I wonder if I can beg a favour from those having more success than I am RE the wills.

After obtaining the following from the Diocese of Durham wills page, I am unable to access the information required.

DPRI/1/1838/d17/1-2 and DPRI/2/47p691-692. This concerns Matthew Dobson from Felton. If anyone can access the will and tell me what it says, I would be very grateful.

Thank you!

Hi Wesley, if you drop me a private message with your email address, I can send you the images of the will which I have downloaded.
